1. Charts — TradingView
Price charts in Trader Battles are drawn with TradingView’s Lightweight Charts, used under the Apache License 2.0. TradingView created that library; we did not.

2. Market data — Databento
Every battle is fought on real recorded market data: 1-second bars for CME Globex Nasdaq-100 and S&P 500 futures, licensed from Databento. The four instruments in the game — MNQ, MES, NQ and ES — are derived from that data.
The data is used to run the simulation and is not redistributed. Trader Battles does not serve raw market data files, and it does not reveal which calendar day a session came from — not during a battle, and not afterwards. That is a rule the server enforces, not a promise the interface makes.
Databento and CME Group are not affiliated with Trader Battles and do not endorse it.
3. Audio — original work
All 31 sound cues are original works of this project. Nothing was downloaded, sampled, or taken from another game. Each cue is synthesised from oscillators, seeded noise, envelopes and filters by a generator that lives in this repository, and rendering it again produces byte-identical files.
Source: tools/sounds. The full cue list is in assets/CREDITS.md.
4. Type
Three typefaces, all under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, served from Google Fonts:
- Barlow Condensed — headings, callsigns, stencil labels
- Inter — body copy
- JetBrains Mono — prices, clocks, and every figure
5. Emblems, calling cards, and everything else you see
The twelve emblems are original artwork made for Trader Battles. They are not taken from, and not derived from, any other game.
Everything else you see — calling-card backgrounds, kill frames, rank badges, the app mark — has no image asset behind it at all. Each is generated from the product’s own colour palette as SVG or CSS.
6. Open-source software
Trader Battles is built on the work of a lot of other people. The load-bearing pieces: Next.js and React, Tailwind CSS, Framer Motion and Zustand in the browser; Fastify, ws, Prisma and PostgreSQL on the server; DuckDB and Apache Parquet for the market-data vault; Howler.js for audio; Argon2 for password hashing; Vitest and Playwright for tests.
Each is used under its own open-source licence — MIT, Apache 2.0, BSD, or PostgreSQL — and those licences travel with the packages in the repository.
7. Names
Trader Battles takes its tone from competitive shooters and none of its assets. No sound, image, font, name, or piece of copy here is taken from another game. Nasdaq-100, S&P 500, CME Group and any other marks named on this site belong to their owners and are used only to identify the instruments being simulated.
